Long before MS Dhoni’s clip from 2011 World Cup final win was part of his biopic ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’, the former Indian skipper has been part of a Bollywood movie, but unfortunately it never saw the light of the day.
According to reports, Dhoni had done a cameo in David Dhawan-directed ‘Hook Ya Crook’ which featured John Abraham in the lead. Some shooting pics of the movie with the entire cast, including Abraham, Kay Kay Menon, Shreyas Talpade, did got viral, but that was the last fans heard of the movie.
The film’s release faced many problems in its journey. The movie was announced in 2006, but its shooting began in 2009. It faced many problems such as change in cast, availability of top cricketers for the film, injuries to actors on sets. The movie was reportedly set in jail with the inmates playing a game of cricket with professional cricketers. As per last reports, the producers UTV shelved the movie despite it was 90 percent complete.
Dhoni has admitted to doing a cameo in the movie ‘Hook Ya Crook’ in a promotional video for his biopic.
